Perennial Nursery Trajnice Strgar successfully works in the field of growing perennials for more than 20 years. We’re located in Ljubljana in Črnuče. Our assortment includes more than 800 different varieties grown on an area of 1 hectare.

Our aim is to offer the clients high quality plants that are adapted to growing conditions in Slovenia and a diverse perennial assortment. We devote a lot of time to test the new varieties on our trial fields, just to make sure that they are the right plants for our climate and growing conditions.  

Besides the growing and selling areas and already mentioned trial fields, the nursery consists also of ornamental beds and stock plant fields .

Beside growing perennials, including ornamental grasses, ferns, aromatic and aquatic plants and bulbs, we also provide advisory services and planting design experties for  private gardens as well as public greenery. Our activities also comprise lectures on perennials, writing of academic articles, cooperation with TV and radio stations and expert guided tours in the gardens abroad.

Since 2010, after Bernarda Strgar Schulz has completed education on London College of Garden Design, we expanded our activities also on garden design.

In 2011-2012, the city of Ljubljana commissioned us for planting design for app. 2000 m2 of public flowers beds that before consisted of annuals only which are now replaced by perennials. New perennial flower beds can be seen all over the city.

Perennial Nursery Trajnice Strgar originates in the family company Drevesnica Strgar that was founded in the late 1960s and was the first private company in the field of garden design and tree nursery in Slovenia.
