The bed measures app. 70 m2 and was planted in 2008. Since then, we keep the planting more or less the same. The structural plant is ornamental grass Deschampsia cespitosa 'Goldschleier', which is evenly planted throughout the entire bed. A smaller number of various flowering perennials, blossoming from April until the end of the fall, is planted among the grass. The perennials are rhythmically planted throughout the entire bed. For the spring interest, over 500 different bulbs, such as Scilla, Narcissus and Allium are planted as well. The bed faces the sun all day and the soil is heavy clay soil. The maintenance is relatively low due to the right selection of plants– we spend around 15 hours per year for the maintenance. In autumn 2018, we added ornamental Japanese cherries Prunus serrulata 'Kanzan'.
